How YOU Can Help Strike Out ALS This Summer

We have lots of activities planned this summer (and Fall) to help strike out ALS.  Join us in the fight, while having fun!!!

June:

• The ENTIRE Month of June:  Support The ALS Association with Boscov’s Stores!
  What’s happening:  We are pleased to announce that Boscov’s has teamed up with The ALS Association Chapters to solicit our Walk to Defeat Pin Ups for the ENTIRE month of June.  Each time you shop at Boscov’s in June, look for an ALS Association Walk to Defeat ALS™ Pin Up available at check-out counters and Courtesy Desks.  Each pin up purchase will benefit local ALS Association Chapters.  Learn more:  www.boscovs.com – scroll to the bottom to see Boscov’s in the Community – Local Western PA Boscov’s Stores are located at:

• Saturday, June 5^th: Washington Wild Things Game in Washington County, PA
  What’s happening:  Join The ALS Association for a day at the ball park.  The Washington Wild Things will be raising awareness for ALS.  A portion of each ticket sale will be donated to the Chapter.

 July:

• Saturday, July 17th: Susan-Bluemle Golf Outing in Pittsburgh, PA
  What’s happening:  This is a third-party event happening at Quicksilver Golf Course.  Foursomes are filled, but there’s room for the Dinner/Afterparty…with Hors d’oeuvres, Drinks, Buffet Dinner, Raffles, Auctions and tons of other FUNdraising activities to help our Chapter.

• Friday, July 23^rd: Johnstown Walk to Defeat ALS™ Kickoff at the Altoona Curve Game in Altoona, PA
  What’s happening:  Are you participating in the 2010 Johnstown Walk or are a fan of baseball?  Please join us for the 2010 Johnstown Walk kickoff at the Altoona Curve game.  A portion of the ticket sales will benefit the Chapter.  Also, this is a great opportunity to get together with our community, learn more about fundraising and gear up for a GREAT Walk to Defeat ALS™ on August 7^th!!!!!

• Thursday, July 29^th: Pittsburgh Walk to Defeat ALS™ Kickoff at Dave & Buster’s at the Waterfront in Homestead, PA
  What’s happening:  Are you participating in the 2010 Pittsburgh Walk?  Join us for our fun annual event to kick off the FUNdraising season for the Pittsburgh Walk!  This year we’re keeping you on your toes moving the shindig to Dave & Buster’s!  It begins at 6:30 pm and goes until 8:30pm

August:

• Saturday, August 7^th: Johnstown Walk to Defeat ALS™ in Johnstown, PA
  What’s happening:  Gather up your friends and family and join other Johnstown area supports for the 2010 Johnstown Walk to Defeat ALS™ at the UPJ Campus!  Registration begins at 9:00 am and the Walk begins at 10:00 am!!!

September:

• Saturday, September 11^th: Pittsburgh Walk to Defeat ALS™ in Pittsburgh, PA
  What’s happening:  Gather up your friends and family and join other Pittsburgh area supporters for the 2010 Pittsburgh Walk to Defeat ALS™ at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium.  Registration begins at 7:30 am and the Walk begins promptly at 9:00 am!!!

 October

• Saturday, October 23^rd: 2010 Living with ALS Symposium
  What’s happening:  Each year, the Western PA Chapter holds a symposium for PALS and caregivers to learn more about living with ALS from service providers, medical professionals, and one another.  More details on this year’s symposium will be available in late summer.
